QBE, the specialist in business insurance, has been announced as the key sponsor for the International Conference on Driver Behaviour and Training (ICDBT) taking place in Paris, 29-30th November 2011.
The conference is the world’s largest gathering of experts and academics in this field and aims to discuss recent advances in the study of road user behaviour, education and training; bridging the gap between practitioners in road safety, such as QBE, and academia.
The conference is organised by DriverMetrics parent, Cranfield University and chaired by DriverMetrics Research Director, Dr Lisa Dorn.
The international forum, with representatives from Europe, Asia, US and the Middle East, offers a platform to exchange information between the theoretical and applied areas of road user behaviour with the ultimate aim of helping improve international road safety.
Richard Thomas, Head of Risk Management Services at QBE European Operations’ Property, Casualty and Motor division said: “Risk management is an essential part of accident prevention and we are constantly looking to evolve our practices to ensure we are giving market leading support to our clients. By combining the academic reasoning behind why accidents occur with the expertise of our risk management practitioners we can go that step further in preventing motor accidents, something that is in the best interest of every driver and pedestrian”.
